High temperature differential scanning calorimeter for measuring the melting point of aluminum

Share:

Aluminum and aluminum alloys are widely used in aerospace, automotive manufacturing, electronics industry, building materials and other fields due to their lightweight, high strength, corrosion resistance and other characteristics. In the process of aluminum smelting, processing and forming, alloy research and development, and quality control, its thermal properties (such as melting point, crystallization temperature, phase transition enthalpy, thermal stability, etc.) are key technical parameters that directly affect the optimization of material processing technology and product performance. Differential scanning calorimeter has formed multidimensional core advantages for the testing needs of aluminum and aluminum based materials, providing accurate and effective thermal analysis solutions for scientific research and industrial applications.

1、 Experimental steps

2. Measurement sample: Aluminum

3. Experimental parameter settings:

Place the crucible containing the aluminum sample into the DSC sample pool, while placing an empty crucible as a reference. Set the heating rate to 10 ℃/min and increase the temperature range from room temperature to 1000 ℃ before starting the test. During the entire testing process, the instrument will automatically record the temperature dependent curve of the heat flux difference between the aluminum sample and the reference material.

5. Measurement spectrum analysis:

The above figure shows the aluminum test spectrum, where enthalpy value → energy absorbed during the melting of the test material; Peak value → the temperature point at which the test material melts violently; Starting point → the temperature point at which the test material transitions from a solid state to a liquid state; Termination point → Temperature point at which all tests transition from solid to liquid. From the above figure, it can be concluded that the melting point of aluminum in this experiment is 650.15 ℃, and its enthalpy value is 397.2713J/g.
