1、 Operation steps of the experiment

3. Purpose of measurement:
3.1 Determine the mass change law of iron blocks from room temperature to the set high temperature range, and clarify the curve characteristics of their thermal weight loss rate with temperature change.
3.2 Analyze the causes of thermal weight loss in iron blocks and determine whether it is due to oxidation reactions, surface impurity decomposition, or other factors.
3.3 Evaluate the thermal stability of iron blocks within the testing temperature range, providing data reference for their use in high-temperature environments.
4. Experimental parameter setting: Before the experiment, turn on the instrument and check if it can run normally. At the same time, perform temperature calibration on the instrument before the experiment. Then set the experimental parameters to a heating rate of 10 ° C/min, raise the temperature to 600 ° C, and protect it with nitrogen gas. Weigh a sample of 10mg and place it in a ceramic crucible for testing.

This sample has good thermal stability before 300 ℃, and significant thermal decomposition/weight loss occurs around 300 ℃. The main weight loss process is concentrated around 300-450 ℃, with a final residue of about 11.5% of the substance.
